Governor Abdullahi declared that the decision on who replaces him in 2027 lies purely in the hands of God, not in his personal preference or political influence.
Governor Sule stated that at least 20 people have already expressed interest in running for governor during a lavish reception in Lafia on Sunday honoring the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Barrister Labaran Magaji.
“I want to use this opportunity to inform you that so far, about 20 people are already in the race for the governorship of Nasarawa State,” Sule announced.
He recognized that with so many candidates, the future would probably be characterized by cooperation, political alliances, and forgiving one another.
“There is going to be a lot of alliances, a lot of forgiveness, and a lot of teamwork if we really want to move forward, because at the end of the day, only one person will get it,” he said.
The governor emphasized that he will not impose a successor while speaking to party supporters and stakeholders at the event, pointing out that the selection of the next leader is a divine choice.
“It is God Almighty who will select our next governor, not A.A. Sule,” he affirmed.
Additionally, Governor Sule took the opportunity to thank President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for what he called the President’s unwavering support for Nasarawa State.
