2027: PDP can’t give presidential ticket to North – Wike warns

Ahead of the 2027 election, Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), has maintained that the PDP cannot give its presidential ticket to the North.

This was said by Wike in a Monday media chat.

His remarks seemed to be aimed at Atiku Abubakar, the PDP’s presidential contender in the 2023 election.

Wike said: “PDP cannot give the presidential ticket to the North (in 2027).

“Selfishness can kill a system.

“For example, if Mr President runs and wins in 2027, by 2031 APC will send their presidential ticket to the North.

“PDP will do what then? You will come back then and say since APC is sending it to the North, we should follow them and give it to the North?”
