2027: Primate Ayodele Breaks Silence Over Jingir’s Controversial Remark

The leader of INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, Primate Elijah Ayodele, has criticised President Bola Tinubu over his failure to respond to a statement attributed to Islamic cleric, Sheikh Sani Yahaya Jingir.

Ayodele said Jingir should be arrested and prosecuted over the remark.

Speaking in a video shared on social media, the cleric warned that Nigerian Christians could face serious challenges if individuals making such statements were not checked.

DAILY POST reports that Jingir, in a video circulating online, said those opposed to a Muslim-Muslim ticket should leave Nigeria, claiming that the country belonged to Muslims.

He also described Christians as “infidels.”

Reacting to the development, Primate Ayodele argued that the government would have taken swift action if a Christian cleric had made a similar statement.

“If the government does not caution this, then Christianity is in trouble in Nigeria. This senseless old fool, Islamic cleric Jingir, should be in jail by now.

“If a Christian had made such a statement, they would have picked him up immediately,” Ayodele said.

He called on the Bola Tinubu administration to caution Jingir and other religious figures against making statements capable of inflaming tensions.

The cleric warned that failure to address inflammatory comments could further threaten peaceful coexistence and weaken national unity.
