The opposition may create a coalition before the 2027 presidential election, according to Kola Ologbondiyan, a former national publicity secretary for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
Ologbondiyan cautioned the ruling party about the weight of what lies ahead.
Regarding AIT, the PDP chieftain stated: “What is coming is heavy, what is imports the desire, readiness of the opposition figures to pull together.
“And if the picture we are picking is right, I would ask Nigerians to go and rest because there is hope ahead. In Ghana, opposition won an election.”
Atiku Abubakar, a former PDP presidential contender, confirmed the efforts to establish an opposition coalition at this time.
Atiku denied reports that he had defected to the Social Democratic Party, or SDP, although he did affirm the opposition’s efforts to build a coalition.
