Victor Ogba, a chieftain of Delta State’s All Progressives Congress (APC), claims that there are several reasons why the South-South geopolitical zone’s citizens ought to back President Bola Tinubu’s 2027 bid for a second term.
Speaking to reporters on Wednesday in Abuja, Ogba is also the president of the Movement for National Transformation, or MNT.
“Bold economic reforms and massive infrastructural projects” were implemented by Tinubu’s administration, he noted, particularly in the South-South, such as the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway.
“Tinubu has tackled the issues that many of his predecessors could not handle due to lack of courage as president.
“For instance, the fuel subsidy which was a fiscal sinkhole and the Central Bank’s mismanagement under the previous administration that fuelled capital flight and currency speculation,” he said.
According to Ogba, the bravery required to demolish economic inefficiencies must now be matched by ingenuity and empathy in order to create a recovery that is inclusive of all.
He praised President Tinubu for rerouting funds to where they are needed, demonstrating bravery and sound leadership.
Ogba praised Tinubu for supporting infrastructure, security, humanitarian relief, healthcare, and education, particularly in the South-South region.
The decision to consolidate the nation’s various exchange rates, he said, was a historic accomplishment that increased government revenue.
