23-year-old man beats girlfriend to death in Lagos

Gbolahan Adebayo, 23, has been taken into custody by the Lagos State Police Command for fatally beating his girlfriend, 25.

According to reports, the incident happened on February 21, 2025.

Benjamin Hundeyin, the spokesperson for the command, confirmed the event to reporters on Monday. He said the suspect committed the crime at Ijedodo, Isheri-Osun, at approximately 8:00 p.m. on Friday.

“A neighbour said he saw the man beating his girlfriend in his room for a reason yet unknown. A few minutes later, the suspect screamed for help.

“On reaching the suspect’s apartment, he found the girlfriend lying unconscious with visible marks on her body.

“The girl was rushed to a hospital in Ijegun, where she was confirmed dead.”
