Two girls and three boys, known as the Quintuplets, have been born to 50-year-old Ephrance Kobusingye and her 62-year-old husband, Eclesensiyo Tunanukye.

Before deciding to use in vitro fertilization (IVF), the couple, who are from Nyaruhanda Village in Kitagwenda District, claimed to have been looking for a child for thirty-two years.

To begin with, in vitro fertilization involves the collection of mature eggs from the ovaries and their fertilization by sperm in a laboratory. One or more of the fertilized eggs—known as embryos—are then surgically placed in the uterus, where the babies are born.

Prior to putting the neonates in the incubator, doctors at NeoCare Specialised Hospital and Fertility Centre in Mbarara performed a procedure on the mom after she experienced issues after carrying the babies for seven months.

The infants are presently being incubated at Holy Innocents Children’s Hospital in Mbarara, and the hospital reported that their status is now stable. Following the procedure, the mother did not encounter any more issues.

The new parents have called on the public to help them out financially because they are too old to do it alone. Her husband is a retired elementary school teacher, and Kobusingye stays at home.
