According to Elon Musk, the wealthy American who owns Tesla and X, 80% of “refugees” take a vacation in the nation they allegedly fled.

Musk revealed this in his speech on X on Friday. Musk is currently the head of the US Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE).

He made his comment in reaction to a Breitbart news report titled “Sweden: 79 Percent of ‘Refugees’ Have Vacationed in Country They ‘Fled'” that was published on September 11, 2022.

The newspaper had relied on a survey by a polling firm, Novus, to claim that “around 85 percent of people living in Sweden born overseas have gone on vacation to their home country—and that among people who are supposed to be refugees, the number is around 79 percent, despite the fact they are in Sweden in the first place because they were supposedly forced to flee said home country”.

Responding to the publication, a statement on Thursday, Elon Musk wrote: “Almost 80 percent of “refugees” go on vacation to the country they claim to have fled from”.

According to report, Elon Musk did not name the nation in his speech but his remarks coincide with an increase in organized violence cases worldwide, including in Sweden.

Ulf Kristersson, Sweden’s prime minister, recently acknowledged that the number of violent crimes in the nation has skyrocketed.

According to Nordic Times, bombings have been carried out at a rate of one bomb per day on average since the start of 2025, totaling 27 bombings by January 27—many of them were in residential areas.
