Abuja herbalist shoots self on stomach while testing bulletproof charm

Ismail Usman, a local herbalist in the Federal Capital Territory who is well-known for his unusual techniques, has shot himself in an attempt to test the efficacy of a “bulletproof” charm he fashioned himself.

The regrettable occurrence was reported on Saturday by Josephine Adeh, the spokesperson for the FCT Police Command.

According to her, the herbalist used a shotgun to shoot himself in order to test his bulletproof charms on November 23 in Kuchibuyi Village.

According to the police image maker, Usman was found in severe condition when officers from the Byazhin Division quickly responded to a distress call from a man named Shandam Michael.

According to her, the herbalist was taken right away to Kubwa General Hospital for emergency care before being moved to Gwagwalada Specialist Hospital for additional treatment.

“In the aftermath, police conducted a thorough search of Usman’s home, recovering the homemade gun and an array of charms used in his reckless experiment”, Josephine said.

Usman is anticipated to be charged with unauthorised firearm possession and attempted suicide under Section 231 of the Penal Code Law of Northern Nigeria, she added, adding that investigations were still ongoing.

The significance of community alertness was emphasised by the FCT Command’s Police Public Relations Officer. “It’s crucial for residents to look out for one another and report any suspicious activities.”
