Area councils in the nation’s capital have been given authorization by Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister Nyesom Wike to demolish incomplete buildings.
At a town hall meeting with Gwagwalada area council stakeholders on Friday, Wike announced the authorization.
He claimed that by demolishing the unfinished buildings, criminals would be able to get rid of their hiding places and safe havens.
“By Monday (22nd January 2024), the chairman should bring the letter for me to approve the demolition of uncompleted structures where criminals are hibernating. Don’t behave like civil servants. Today is Friday. Ensure you bring the letter by Monday, and I will happily approve it,” Wike said.
According to ZINGTIE, Wike stated that due to increased insecurity, some informants of kidnappers had been detained in the Federal Capital Territory.
Remember how the kidnappers killed three of the ten victims they had abducted because the ransom of more than N700 million had not been paid on time? Tension erupted in an Abuja suburb.
