The African Democratic Congress’s (ADC) national publicity secretary (South), Dr. Effiong Nyong, has denied allegations that former Senate President David Mark, former Vice President Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, and others have taken over the party as a means of opposing the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in 2027.
Nyong emphasized in an interview with ZINGTIE that those well-known individuals were merely utilizing their unique abilities and were working together to address and turn around the horrible governance that had afflicted Nigeria.
Nyong, the ADC’s 2023 candidate for governor of Cross River State, stated, “I think it is very wrong to say that ADC has been hijacked.
“In the interest of the country, these people, having noticed the drift into destruction and valuing their individual strengths, decided to come together and tame the scourge.
“Disgruntled persons are also free to say what they want, it is within their rights.”
He warned against making rash claims, saying that people shouldn’t be forced to make claims for or against.
According to him, “The objective of the coalition is to rescue ourselves from those that have captured Nigeria with impunity and are boasting about it.”
According to him, Nigeria’s current rulers are just halfway through their term in 2025, and his fellow citizens anticipated seeing a contrast of two different scenarios: life two years ago and life today.
He pointed out that present leaders have been more concerned with garnering support for reelection into the following two-year term than they have been with improving the life of the populace.
