Afrobeats artist, Adekunle Gold, has voiced serious concerns about the state of the Nigerian music industry.
He argued that the industry is being steered by the wrong people, with artists, producers, and other creatives being overshadowed by individuals who are not focused on music.
He highlighted that the wrong voices are leading the discussion and spreading false narratives, which leads to talent being ignored while mediocrity takes center stage.
On his X handle, he wrote, “People who have no business leading music conversations are now controlling and destroying the industry.
“Artists, producers, and real contributors are being overshadowed by people who don’t create, don’t understand, and don’t respect the craft.
“When the wrong people lead the conversation, they push the wrong narratives. That’s why real talent is overlooked, and mediocrity thrives. Congratulations to everyone involved.”
