What you should know as Zenith Bank appoints Kennedy Okwudili as Executive Director

Effective May 1, 2026, Mr. Kennedy Onuwa Okwudili has been appointed as an Executive Director at Zenith Bank Plc. The appointment, aligning with the bank’s tradition and succession strategy of developing internal leaders, will bolster the bank’s Executive Management further.

In 1998, Mr. Okwudili completed his studies at Nigeria’s University of Maiduguri, earning a Bachelor of Science (Honours) degree in Accounting and achieving a Second Class Upper division. In 2008, he earned an MBA (Master of Business Administration) from Ahmadu Bello University in Zaria, Nigeria. He also obtained a Master of Science in Accounting from Veritas University in Abuja, Nigeria, in 2021.

Mr. Okwudili possesses more than 25 years of relevant experience in banking, covering areas such as credit and marketing, treasury, compliance, and operations. He has worked across different zones and departments within the bank at various times.

He is a 2013 Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN), a 2024 Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria (CIBN), and a 2016 Associate of the Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria (CITN).

He has participated in various Executive Education Programmes domestically and internationally, such as the Senior Leadership Development Programme at the Lagos Business School, the Corporate Directorship Programme at Harvard Business School, and the Oxford Advanced Management and Leadership Programme at the University of Oxford’s SAID Business School.

He is currently serving as the President of the Catholic Bankers Association of Nigeria (CBAN) and is a member of the Noble Order of the Knights of St. John International (KSJI).
