AFCON 2023: Angola president reacts to Super Eagles defeat

Republic of Angola’s president, João Lourenço, expressed his satisfaction with the team’s performance at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations.

Nigeria eliminated the Palancas Negras from the competition on Friday.

They had advanced to the AFCON quarterfinal three times.

The Super Eagles defeated Angola with a single goal by Ademola Lookman.

Lourenco encouraged the plays not to be devastated by the defeat because the nation is proud of their achievements in Cote d’Ivoire.

“In this CAN, we did well, but we need to improve, learning from our mistakes.

“Don’t be discouraged; the next one will be ours, just depending on all of us, MINJUD, FAF, Palancas, and all Angolan fans,” the Angolan President wrote (translated) on his official X social network account.
