AFCON 2023: Ball statistics as Super Eagles lose final 2-1 to Ivory Coast

Nigeria was defeated 2-1 by Ivory Coast in the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations final.

For the fourth time in their history, the Super Eagles wanted to raise the trophy.

After William Troost-Ekong’s header in the first half, Jose Peseiro’s team led.

However, Franck Kessie’s header for the Ivorians equalised the score after the break.

A flicked ball beat Stanley Nwabali from Sebastien Haller with a few minutes remaining in the match.

On three continental titles, the Elephants and Nigeria are now equal.
