The nations that are most likely to win the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations, AFCON, have been projected by the Opta Supercomputer.

Starting this weekend in Morocco, the 2025 AFCON will go through January 18, 2026.

Ivory Coast defeated the Super Eagles of Nigeria 2-1 in the final to win the AFCON championship in the previous edition.

Opta has now selected Morocco, the host country, as the favorites to win the championship.

There is a 19.1% possibility that the North Africans will win the competition.

Egypt, another African nation, is located behind Morocco. The Pharaohs’ chances of winning the AFCON are 12.4%.

Senegal comes in third. There is a 12.3% possibility that the Teranga Lions will win the prize.

Nigeria and Algeria round out the top five nations most likely to win the AFCON.

The odds of both countries winning the AFCON are 12% and 7.3%, respectively.

Nigeria is followed by South Africa, Ivory Coast, Mali, Cameroon, and Tunisia, in that order.
