Serie A giants Napoli have released a statement regarding striker Romelu Lukaku, who is facing disciplinary action for skipping training.

Antonio Conte’s team is contemplating pursuing legal action against Lukaku after the Belgian did not show up for training today.

This has led to tensions arising between the two parties, as the former Chelsea star spent the international break in Belgium recovering from injury.

“SSC Napoli can confirm that Romelu Lukaku did not respond to today’s call to return to training,” Napoli’s statement read on Tuesday.

“The club reserves the right to consider taking the appropriate disciplinary action.

“As well as to determine whether the player will continue to train with the team for an indefinite period.”
