AFCON: Uzoho opens up on relationship with Nwabali

Francis Uzoho, the goalie for the Super Eagles, has talked candidly about his connection with Stanley Nwabali.

Uzoho referred to Nwabali, the Chippa United goalie, as his brother and said that those outside are unaware of their strong friendship.

Before the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations, AFCON, in Morocco, the Omonoia FC of Cyprus goalkeeper was called up to the Super Eagles.

“Stanley is my brother, you know, when he came, we were all together,” Uzoho told the Super Eagles media.

“We helped each other. I helped him. He helped me. So Stanley is a good guy, which I have a very close relationship with him.

“Maybe the people outside there don’t see it, but personally with him, I’m good with him. And also with Amas [Obasogie].”

Nigeria, Tunisia, Tanzania, and Uganda are in Group C of the 2025 AFCON.

On Tuesday, Eric Chelle’s team will meet Egypt in a warm-up game.
