After attempting to break up with his girlfriend, who has threatened to tell his mother about his “wayward lifestyle,” a young man from Nigeria finds himself stuck in a relationship.

The incident started when an influencer on social media urged followers to suggest the best breakup phrases for people who needed help.

In the hopes of receiving a positive response, @Khidess, an X user, found the perfect breakup message in the comments and forwarded it to his lover.

The message read as follows: “I’ve been doing a lot of thinking lately, and I believe it’s important to be honest with you. I’ve realized that we’re heading in different directions, and while I deeply care about you, I don’t think we’re the right fit for each other in the long term.

“This is not an easy decision to make, but I deeply believe it’s the best for both of us. I want you to know that I truly appreciate the time weve shared and the memories we’ve made. You deserve someone who’s fully aligned with what you want and need. I wish you all the best moving forward. Take care.”

He was shocked to learn that the girlfriend had threatened to tell his mother about his marijuana use, along with pictures to prove it.

“I’m gonna tell your mama you smoke weed, send her pictures,” she replied.
