Tragically, the Yasore hamlet in Katsina State’s Batsari Local Government Area was attacked by bandits, resulting in one fatality and at least five injuries. The town is in mourning and dread after the attack, which also resulted in the kidnapping of several individuals.

A social media user named @DanKatsina50 reported that the incident was a retaliation for security forces’ previous success in eliminating bandits during an operation in the state’s Dutsin-Ma LGA’s Ruwan Dorawa community.

According to reports, the attack happened in the evening when highly armed assailants broke into the town, started shooting, and caused chaos.

Witnesses reported chaotic scenes, with families escaping for their lives as the assailants broke into houses and kidnapped multiple people.

Regarding the attack, the Katsina State Police Command has not yet issued an official statement.

At the time this report was filed, ZINGTIE’s attempts to reach DSP Abubakar Sadiq, the Police Public Relations Officer, were fruitless since no one answered the phone.
