Aisha Yesufu, a former Bring Back Our Girls, BBOG, campaigner, and Bashir Ahmad, a former presidential aide, are at odds over a well-known cross-dressing.
Yesufu had criticized the Kano State Government, accusing it of hypocrisy, after the ban on films featuring cross-dressing and thuggery was imposed.
ZINGTIE reports that the state government issued a warning against films that show thuggery and declared a ban on films that feature cross-dressing.
The change occurred due to public worries about some films encouraging lousy behavior in young people in the state.
Aisha Yesufu, in her response, mentioned the well-known crossdresser Bobrisky, but she also pointed out that crossdressers had lived in Kano long before the likes of Bobrisky were imagined.
“Cross dressers were all over Kano before Bobrisky was conceived;” she wrote on X.
“Bobrisky still has things to learn from the original ones in Kano who don’t need surgery to transform. Yeah let’s continue with the hypocrisy and make it a now thing.”
In response to Yesufu’s remarks, Ahmad declared full support for the decision of the Kano State Government, saying, “Even if it has been around for thousands of years, why the anger over Kano State Government’s efforts to address it now?
“Regardless of who is involved, it’s a bad thing and entirely against our religion and culture.
“We fully back Gov. Abba K. Yusuf’s decision to use his authority to eliminate it for the better.”
