Aiyedatiwa’s aide, ‘Fada’ allegedly beat APC chairman into coma over gov’s largesse

The alleged attack on Ward 8 chairman Oluwadare Olanrewaju by Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa’s Senior Special Assistant on Community Engagement (Central), Oluwafemi Fadairo, also known as “Fada,” has alarmed the chairmen of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in Akure South Local Government, Ondo State.

According to sources, Aiyedatiwa’s generosity for the ward during his thank-you tour caused a fight between the two.

According to reports, Olanrewaju, the chairman of the Ward, is currently unconscious.

In a statement released over the weekend, the ward chairmen claimed that Fadairo organized a group of alleged thugs to attack the chairman over the distribution of the N1 million allotted to each ward during the visit.

It was stated that Fadairo, a candidate for the Akure South/Akure North federal district in the House of Representatives, demanded that Olanrewaju include the names of his group’s supporters on the beneficiary list. However, the ward chairman declined to alter the list in Fadairo’s favor.

“When he refused to manipulate the list, the intimidation began,” the forum alleged. He was repeatedly harassed, trailed, and eventually beaten to the point of unconsciousness. He was rushed to the hospital.

“Leadership should protect people, not endanger them. Anyone who promotes violence is unfit for the privilege of public office.”

They said that the incident had been reported to the Department of State Services (DSS) and the Nigeria Police Force (NPF), Zone 17, Akure, while characterizing it as savage and disgusting, especially from someone connected to the governor’s office.

Speaking about the incident, Fadairo, who refuted the accusation, emphasized that the alleged charges were fabrications meant to damage his reputation due to his political aspirations.

“There was no day I beat him or touched him. They are cooking up lies because they know I am popular in the ward, and they want to weaken my political structure, but they have failed.”
