Anambra governorship election: EFCC arrests three suspected vote buyers

During the current Anambra State governorship race, agents of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) have detained at least three accused vote purchasers.

While voting was taking place, the suspects were captured at several sites.

Emeka Ilokasia was detained in Ward 2 of the state’s Njikoka Local Government Area, according to the anti-graft agency.

Similarly, Emuka Chuwudi was detained at Umunachi village in Dukonukofia LGA, while Nwachuwu Loretta was nabbed at Ward 2 (008), Awkuzu, Oyi LGA.

“All the suspects were arrested while participating in the governorship election held on Saturday, November 8, 2025.

“They will be charged to court as soon as investigations are concluded,” EFCC posted on its official Facebook page.
