Miss Chioma Ifemeludike has been chosen by the African Action Congress (AAC) to run for governor of Anambra State in November.
In the primary election for the party, Ifemeludike was elected.
Along with candidates from other political parties, she is anticipated to run against Prof. Chukwuma Soludo, the state’s current governor.
Dr. Sam Ajeigbe, the party’s national treasurer, attended the occasion on behalf of Comrade Omoyele Sowore, the AAC’s national chairman.
Mr. Oshiokhe Ikpeminoghena, the chairman of the election committee, stated that Ifemeludike had completed all the requirements to be eligible to compete for the Anambra governorship election and that it was the party’s constitutional duty to nominate a candidate.
Ifemeludike pledged in her acceptance speech to uphold the confidence that party members have placed in her.
In particular, women, children, and young people in Anambra State would be empowered to become better citizens of the country, she said, and the party will ensure this.
Miss Ifemeludike is a native of Anambra State’s Eziowele, Idemili North Local Government Area.
She was elected by a unanimous affirmative vote of Congress members.
