Former President Muhammadu Buhari was visited at his home in Kaduna State by Abdullahi Ganduje, the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), and members of the party’s National Working Committee (NWC).
The visit happened on Friday, only hours after opposition leaders met with the former president, according to ZINGTIE.
Remember that earlier Friday, former Vice President Atiku Abubakar led a team to Buhari’s home that included former Kaduna Governor Nasir el-Rufai, former Sokoto Governor Aminu Tambuwal, and former Communications Minister Isa Pantami.
After the visit, El-Rufai told reporters that the visit was not political and advised “adversaries” to keep their sleep.
The results of the APC NWC’s visit were not yet known at the time this report was filed.
The meeting follows Buhari’s reception of an APC governors’ delegation headed by Imo State Governor Hope Uzodimma a few days prior.
The Progressives Governors’ Forum chairman, Uzodimma, stated that the purpose of their visit was to congratulate Buhari on the successful completion of the Ramadan fast and to offer Sallah blessings.
Concerns regarding the Congress for Progressive Change, CPC, faction’s potential split from the APC have grown in recent years.
According to ZINGTIE, Buhari belonged to the CPC group, which was one of the four political organizations that united to form the APC in 2013.
Buhari has stated that he will never leave the APC in spite of the rumors.
