Asake, Davido, Burna Boy, others make Obama’s favourite music of 2023 list

Four Nigerian songs are on the former US President Barack Obama’s list of his top 2023 musical selections.

The songs are “Me & U” by Tems, “Amapiano” by Asake featuring Olamide, “Unavailable” by Davido featuring Musa Keys, and “Sittin’ On Top Of The World” by Burna Boy featuring 21 Savage.

The song “Water” by South African musician Tyla was also added to the list that the former US President unveiled on Friday.

World music, including Latino, pop, Afrobeats, Hip-hop, Grime, Reggaeton, Reggae, Dancehall, R&B, and Soul, was included in the list.

Obama posted the list and said, “These are some of my favourite songs from this year,” using his X username. Tell me about any musicians or songs I should listen to.
