Nigeria needs immediate restructuring, according to former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, who emphasized that this is necessary for the people to fully benefit from democracy.
Speaking at a coalition gathering in Yola on Tuesday, the 2023 Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) presidential candidate expressed his displeasure with the nation’s current course and emphasized the need for quick action to spare future generations from suffering.
He underlined the necessity of a powerful movement to effect change and cautioned that if nothing is done, Nigerian youngsters may end up as outsiders in their own country.
Atiku’s comments alluded to a future political statement, saying that although he was not yet ready to address national concerns in detail, he will soon speak out about the situation in the nation.
He described the coalition as a vital force in tackling Nigeria’s problems and asked Nigerians to continue being watchful and dedicated to defending the country’s interests.
Many political leaders attended the conference, including Senator Ishaku Abbo, who reinforced Atiku’s leadership and cross-party influence.
He stated that Atiku was still a major political figure and that his followers will stick by him regardless of their party allegiance.
Abbo pointed out that Atiku’s reputation as a leader committed to democratic principles had been cemented throughout his time as vice president.
The ceremony was attended by representatives from Adamawa State’s 21 local government areas, including prominent members of the All Progressives Congress (APC), who support Senator Aishatu Binani, the party’s candidate for governor in 2023.
