Atiku Abubakar, the former vice president of Nigeria, has issued a warning, saying that any threat against Peter Obi, his former running mate for president, is a danger to “all of us.”
This was said by Atiku in a succinct tweet on Tuesday afternoon.
He simply wrote: “Let it be known that a threat against Peter Obi or any of us is a threat against ALL of us! -AA”
Days prior to Atiku’s remarks, Senator Monday Okpebholo, the governor of Edo State, cautioned Obi against traveling to the state without a security clearance.
According to Okpebholo, there was unrest in Benin City, the state capital, the last time Obi visited the state and donated N15 million to a nursing school there, which resulted in some fatalities.
Outrage and criticism greeted the governor’s remarks.
