Bandits abduct several women, children in fresh Zamfara attack

A number of women and children have reportedly been kidnapped by suspected armed groups in the Tabkin Maza area of Bakura Local Government, Zamfara State.

The abduction occurred on the evening of Thursday, July 24, forcing many residents to flee to the nearby Masgo community in a bid to escape worsening insecurity.

Security expert Bakatsine, in a post on X made on Friday, reported:

“Bandits attacked residents of Tabkin Maza on Thursday evening as they sought refuge in Masgo, Bakura LGA, Zamfara. Many women and children were abducted. Locals say the bandits have set up a new camp in the western forest of Bakura.”

The incident has sparked renewed calls from residents urging the Zamfara State Government and security forces to take swift action to curb further violence in the area.
