A bandit assault on Bajat and Dole villages in the Safana Local Government Area (LGA) of Katsina State on Tuesday resulted in the death of a vigilante leader and left several others injured.
The incident was reported by security analyst Zagazola Makama on Wednesday.
Makama stated that the armed bandits invaded the villages around 6 p.m., firing indiscriminately and causing widespread panic among the residents.
During the attack, Nura Baushe, a vigilante commander, was fatally shot while trying to protect the community.
Other victims, including Amadu Dole, Surajo Shehu, and Shafiu Sulaiman, were wounded by gunfire and were promptly taken to the Federal Teaching Hospital in Katsina for treatment.
Security forces were later dispatched to the area, bringing the situation under control and restoring order after the attack.
