President Bola Tinubu has emphasized that his visit to Benue State is not merely ceremonial but a heartfelt gesture to stand in solidarity with the grieving people.

He made this statement on Wednesday during his visit to the state, which comes in the wake of the tragic killing of over 200 residents in Yelewata, reportedly set ablaze by suspected herdsmen.

The President’s presence in Makurdi is part of ongoing efforts to tackle the persistent wave of violence affecting communities in Benue State.

Tinubu said: “We’re here not just to show our faces but to share in your grieves, and condole you for the lost of lives that have occurred.”
