Bournemouth manager, Andoni Iraola, has shared the reasons behind his team’s 2-1 victory over Arsenal in the Premier League on Saturday.
Iraola witnessed Alex Scott and Eli Junior Kroupi score the crucial goals, securing all three points for the Cherries at the Emirates Stadium.
Speaking after the final whistle, Iraola revealed that his team’s solid defense against Arsenal’s set-pieces played a key role in their victory, while also praising his players for their courage against the Premier League leaders.
“We showed great character in such a big game and in a massive stadium. We were at the level required for this match. I’m really pleased with the players,” Iraola told BBC Sport.
“Defensively, apart from the penalty, we managed to handle the set-piece situations. We were bold and performed well. A complete performance,” he added.
“It’s about growing into the game. We had some excellent moments on the ball and exploited gaps in the middle,” Iraola concluded.
