Little girl with her hero, Returning from the army
The Bob Woodruff Foundation has received a $3 million grant from Bread Financial over three years to support mental health initiatives for children in military families. The grant will fund clinical mental health care, clinician training, and social connection programs.
According to a 2023 survey, over 70% of the foundation’s Got Your 6 Network partners reported caring for local families with children in need of mental health services, while only 13% of service providers said their organizations could address the full need in their community
Bread Financial president and CEO Ralph Andretta, also a Woodruff Foundation board member, said, “For children in military and veteran families, mental health challenges are compounded by frequent moves, deployments, barriers to care, and other service-related stressors.”
Andretta added, “I am proud of our growing partnership with the Bob Woodruff Foundation to help address the mental health needs of military-connected children with an integrated approach to holistic wellness.
