As of the time this report was filed, the Independent National Electoral Commission, or INEC, has successfully posted ninety-three percent of the results from the Edo governorship election on its Results Viewing Portal, or IReV.

As a result, the portal now displays the results from 4,082 of the 4,519 polling places in the state where elections were held.

This indicates that 437 PUs’ worth of results have not yet been posted to IReV.

Anugbum Onuoha, the resident electoral commissioner for Edo, had earlier told the public in an appearance on Arise Television that, barring any network outages, the electronic transfer of results would go off without a hitch.

“We have trained the operators for the BVAS. They are set. BVAS is to accredit the voters and to know the total number of voters that will vote at that level and that polling unit.

“After that, the voters will start voting. At the end of the day, they will count the results, and it will be uploaded to our IReV,” he assured.

This occurs when contestants vie for the votes of 2.2 million voters who have permanent voter cards spread throughout the state’s 18 local government areas: Asue Ighodalo of the Peoples Democratic Party, Monday Okpebholo of the All Progressives Congress, Olumide Akpata of the Labour Party, and others.
