The governor of Ekiti public, Mr. Biodun Oyebanji, has given the go-ahead for public employees to work from home.

The goal of the arrangement is to lessen the impact that the state’s workers will experience from the current economic climate.

The governor’s special adviser on media, Mr. Yinka Oyebode, made a statement stating that officials on levels 01–07 will now work three days a week from home.

Additionally, level 08–12 police are required to work from home twice a week, whilst level 13–17 officers are only allowed to do so once a week.

Starting on Monday, September 9, 2024, the new agreement will not apply to critical employees such as teachers, hospital core health staff, security guards, and so on.

The governor’s decree states that in order to make sure that the new work-from-home arrangement does not compromise efficient service delivery, each MDA is required to create a feasible plan for employees.

The agreement is subject to periodic revision in accordance with current circumstances and will be in effect for a duration of two months.

Furthermore, the agreement has no bearing on other palliative measures implemented by the state government, such as the free bus service for employees and students and the monthly income award for workers and retirees.

The administration of Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji is dedicated to the welfare of its employees and will keep putting the required measures in place to raise their output.
