Zacchaeus Adangor, the Rivers State Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, has declined to be reassigned as the Commissioner for Special Duties.
Zacchaeus resigned from the state executive council as well.
ZINGTIE reminds us that Zacchaeus resigned from his post as state attorney general on December 14th, following a confrontation between Governor Sim Fubara and Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister Nyesom Wike.
However, after being reaffirmed by the state House of Assembly, Zacchaeus and other commissioners who had resigned because of the political unrest in the state were accepted back into the government.
Earlier in the week, Fubara restructured his cabinet and assigned Zacchaeus to a new position as the Commissioner for Special Duties (Governor’s Office’s).
Zacchaeus declined his new position in a letter to the Secretary of the Rivers State government that ZINGTIE was able to view.
Zacchaeus, a close ally of Wike, said in his letter of resignation that Governor Fubara was interfering with his ability to carry out his responsibilities as the state’s attorney general.
