Certificates Fraud: Over 15,000 students affected by ban – NANS cries to FG

According to the National Association of Nigerian Students, NANS, Benin Republic, the recent school closure in the area has affected more than 15,000 students in the nation.

For this reason, NANS is pleading for tolerance regarding the prohibition on the validation of degree certificates from Togo.

Recently, certificate fraud in schools in neighbouring countries was revealed by an investigative reporter.

Following this event, the Nigerian government declared that the validation of degree certificates from both nations would no longer be permitted.

However, Ugochukwu Favour, the NANS President of the Benin Republic, stated on Channels Television on Thursday that the government ought to consider students who had been admitted lawfully.

“For now, I will say that the Federal Government should look into the issue. Now, you can’t, because it is happening in this school, punish everyone because it involved close to 15,000 students in the Benin Republic.

“I have really not validated if it has been happening for a long time. This is just like what just came out on social media and we are still trying to find out how long it has been happening,” the NANS president said. “So, that is why I set up a committee as the president to investigate it.”
