The Emergency Assistance Foundation (EAF), based in West Palm Beach, Florida, has announced a significant allocation of over $59 million in financial assistance to 71,800 people, individuals and families worldwide affected by disasters and personal hardships in 2024.

This substantial aid was facilitated through EAF’s extensive network of employee relief funds, which are sponsored by companies to provide critical support to their employees during times of crisis.

In response to recent natural disasters, EAF activated it’s People First Fund to provide targeted assistance. Notably, the fund allocated $20 million to support 31,000 individuals and families impacted by hurricanes Helene and Milton in the southeastern United States. Furthermore, EAF provided $8 million in aid to 14,400 individuals and families affected by Hurricane Beryl, as well as $1.8 million to support 1,600 individuals and families impacted by the Israel-Palestine conflict.

The EAF’s swift response to these disasters has made a significant difference in the lives of those affected. By providing direct financial assistance, EAF has helped individuals and families cover essential expenses, such as food, shelter, and medical care, during a time of great need.

“We know that the best way to provide support in the aftermath of disasters is to put money directly into the hands of the people impacted as quickly as possible, filling a void in traditional disaster response,” said EAF president Doug Stockham. “We’re giving people what they need most in the moment and supporting them on the path to recovery.”
