Former senator Dino Melaye has criticized renowned Nigerian musician and television personality, Charles Chukwuemeka Oputa, popularly known as Charly Boy, following a recent public jab directed at him.
Charly Boy had mocked Melaye for frequently flaunting his wealth on social media platforms.
Melaye, who served as the representative for Kogi West in the 8th National Assembly, is widely recognized for his extravagant lifestyle and collection of high-end vehicles.
Charly Boy’s remarks came after the former lawmaker shared a video in which he declared, “There’s no one else like me. I’m limited edition.”
In response, Charly Boy suggested that Dino might be dealing with depression despite his display of wealth, adding that “not all mental illnesses are noticeable.”
Reacting to the comment, Dino Melaye posted a video on Facebook on Thursday, where he alleged that Charly Boy’s destiny had been spiritually hindered.
He further accused the entertainer of attempting to use his name as a means to attract public attention.
He said, “I heard he has a leaking roof but he has no money to fix it. He places a whole big bike in front of his house like a statue and he doesn’t see that as a show off.
“He wanted to use my name to gain popularity because his destiny has been thrown inside freezer”.
