AFCON top scorers ahead of Round of 16 fixtures

Algeria captain Riyad Mahrez is now joint top scorer with Morocco’s Brahim Diaz and Ayoub El Kaabi at the ongoing 2025 Africa Cup of Nations, AFCON, in Morocco.

Mahrez, Diaz, and El Kaabi have each scored three goals in the competition.

They are ahead of Senegal striker Nicolas Jackson, Tunisia’s Elias Achouri, and Nigeria’s Lookman Ademola, among others, in terms of goals scored.

This comes ahead of the AFCON Round of 16 stage, which takes place this weekend.

AFCON leading scorers ahead of the last-16 stage, which runs from Saturday to Tuesday.

Riyad Mahrez, Brahim Diaz, and Ayoub El Kaabi scored three goals each.

Two goals each from Nicolas Jackson, Raphael Onyedika, Elias Achouri, Lookman Ademola, Amad Diallo, Lyle Foster, Mohamed Salah, and Lassine Sinayoko.

One goal each for Semi Ajayi, Marvin Anieboh, Wilfred Ndidi, Paul Onuachu, and Victor Osimhen.
