Fulham winger Willian has shared his thoughts ahead of the upcoming FIFA Club World Cup quarter-final clash between Chelsea and Palmeiras.
The match is set to take place on Saturday at Lincoln Financial Field in the United States.
Chelsea booked their place in the quarter-finals with a convincing 4-1 win over Benfica, while Palmeiras advanced after a narrow 1-0 victory against Botafogo.
Offering his prediction, Willian—who previously played for Chelsea—expressed confidence in his former club’s chances, backing them to overcome the Brazilian side and move on to the semi-final stage.
“I think [the Chelsea vs Palmeiras] will be a hotly contested match,” Willian (via FIFA’s website).
“Of course, depending on how it pans out, such as if there is an early goal, it could become more comfortable for Chelsea, which was the case for Bayern against Flamengo.
“It won’t be an easy game, but I do think Chelsea will get through in the end.”
