College of Education holds Maiden Convocation, Graduates 79 Students

Nosakhare College of Education in Edo State has held its maiden convocation ceremony, graduating 79 students and charging them to become world-class educators and contribute meaningfully to Nigeria’s education sector. The ceremony, which covered the 2022/2023 and 2023/2024 academic sessions, was a major milestone in the institution’s history.

The Provost, Dr. Mercy Omobude, described the event as a celebration of the students’ academic achievements and a testament to the college’s commitment to excellence. “Today, we celebrate the academic achievements of our students and honor exceptional individuals who exemplify the values of service, excellence, and leadership,” she said.

Dr. Omobude praised the founder and president, Elder Nosakhare Eghobamien, for his vision and dedication, noting that his leadership had been instrumental to the institution’s growth and success. She also commended the commitment of the college’s staff

In his remarks, Elder Eghobamien congratulated the graduating students and urged them to be good ambassadors of the college and contribute to national development. The convocation ceremony also featured the presentation of awards to distinguished Nigerians, including Mrs. Ngozi Elizabeth Ehigiamusoe and Dr. Clement Alile.

The convocation lecture, titled “Teacher Education in a Changing World,” was delivered by Dr. Hezekiah Alonge of the University of Benin. He emphasized the critical role teachers play in preserving and promoting national values, especially in an era of rapid change.
