Dangote Foundation begins Rice distribution to over 30 host communities in Ogun

The Aliko Dangote Foundation (ADF) has extended its National Food Intervention programme to over 30 host communities in Ogun State, distributing over 3,000 bags of rice to the less privileged. The initiative, which aims to complement the government’s food security efforts, has brought smiles to the faces of thousands of beneficiaries.

“We all were here last year, we are also here this year, for distribution of food items. Let me on behalf of the community… appreciate the management team of Aliko Dangote Foundation for this gesture,” said Oba Rotimi Mulero, Aboro of Ibese.

The ADF’s food inflation intervention was designed to support vulnerable groups facing hardship in the face of the current economic climate. “The economic downturn has made it increasingly difficult for many Nigerians to afford basic staples like rice, making such support crucial,” said Victor Edero, representative of the Aliko Dangote Foundation

The beneficiaries, who turned out in large numbers, expressed their gratitude for the initiative, describing it as a clear example of how public-private partnerships can be harnessed to ease people’s burdens and promote inclusive development.

The Olu of Itori, Oba Abdulfatai Akamo, thanked Alhaji Aliko Dangote for including Itori in the food intervention programme, saying, “We will give all necessary cooperation to ensure the plant takes off smoothly.”

This initiative is part of the ADF’s commitment to capturing its target audiences, including the vulnerable, downtrodden, and aged. The Foundation has distributed 40,000 bags of rice across 20 local government areas in Ogun State, bringing relief to thousands of people
