Dangote Refinery and NNPC Forge Partnership for Energy Security

The President of the Dangote Group, Alhaji Aliko Dangote, has emphasised that the Dangote Petroleum Refinery is not competing with the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL), but rather seeks a collaborative partnership. Dangote made this statement during a visit to the new group chief executive officer of NNPC, Bayo Ojulari, in Abuja.

According to Dangote, “There is no competition between us; we are not here to compete with NNPC Ltd. NNPC is part and parcel of our business, and we are also part of NNPC. This is an era of cooperation between the two organisations.” The two firms agreed to deepen their collaboration to ensure Nigeria’s energy security and advance shared prosperity for Nigerians.

Dangote pledged to work with the new NNPC management to achieve this goal, while Ojulari assured Dangote of a mutually beneficial partnership anchored on healthy competition and productive collaboration. Ojulari described the NNPC workforce as “dedicated, highly skilled, and hard-working professionals who are consistently keen on delivering value for Nigeria.”

The NNPC CEO expressed the company’s readiness to build a legacy of national prosperity through innovation and shared purpose, stating that NNPC will sustain its collaboration with the Dangote Group, especially where there is a commercial advantage for Nigeria. Both executives committed to being relationship managers for their respective organisations, envisioning limitless opportunities for both organisations through sustained productive collaboration and healthy competition
