Dangote Petroleum Refinery has announced plans to start distributing Premium Motor Spirit and diesel nationwide from August 15, 2025. The company will deploy 4,000 new Compressed Natural Gas-powered tankers to boost delivery capacity.
The distribution is open to marketers, petrol station dealers, manufacturers, telecoms operators, aviation firms, and large-scale fuel users. Dangote Refinery will also establish daughter booster CNG stations and a dedicated fleet of gas-powered tankers
“Dangote Petroleum Refinery is pleased to announce the commencement of a significant national initiative designed to transform Nigeria’s fuel distribution landscape,” the company stated. The initiative aims to eliminate logistics costs, enhance energy efficiency, and support Nigeria’s economic development.
The company’s founder, Aliko Dangote, recently hinted at a major overhaul of the downstream sector, saying it would not be about price reduction but a complete transformation. The initiative is expected to revitalise dormant filling stations, reduce inflationary pressure, and support economic reform.
