Nigerian music star D’banj recently shared his top three favourite Nigerian artistes, notably leaving out Wizkid from the list.
During a chat on the Adesope podcast, D’banj revealed that the only artistes he currently listens to are Rema, Davido, and Burna Boy.
He commended Rema for his vibrant stage presence, applauded Burna Boy for his purposeful artistry, and praised Davido for his humility and dedication to the craft.
Wizkid’s absence from the lineup has stirred reactions among fans, considering his significant influence in the Nigerian music scene.
Adesope asked: “Who are your artistes that you are listening to now? Just give me three.”
“Shout out to Rema. I love Rema’s energy. You know, there’s this guy that I love a lot and he loves me too. He will be doing as if tomorrow, if he wakes up, there’s no money—David is hustling like he doesn’t have money.
“And I think people should learn from how he carries himself, like he does not have a penny, yet he is so consistent. Then Burna Boy is too intentional—his live shows are amazing.”
