The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Lagos State Chapter claims it will not miss Dr. Abdul-Azeez Adediran, popularly known as Jandor, the party’s 2023 gubernatorial candidate who defected to the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Hakeem Olalemi, the State PDP Vice Chairman (Central), said thus in response to Adediran’s Monday return to the APC.

Adediran’s departure from the PDP was not unexpected, according to Olalemi, who also claimed that the former governor’s candidate had come to spy on and destroy the party in the state.

“He (Adediran) is a human being and the Nigerian Constitution allows freedom of associations. He is free to resign from any group or party and join any group he wants.

“We will miss his shenanigans, comedy and cunningness. So, we will not miss anything good about him in the party because he has done a huge havoc to our party in Lagos State.

“He has come to our party to spy and he ruined the party.

“We are assuring the public that we are going to pick up the party from where it is now and take it to its Eldorado come 2027 by the special grace of God,” Olalemi said.

Adediran, a former APC candidate for governor and leader of the Lagos4Lagos Movement, is also known for defecting from the APC to the PDP in 2021.

Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu defeated all of the candidates, including Adediran, to be proclaimed the victor of the 2023 Lagos governorship election by the Independent National Electoral Commission, or INEC.

Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour of the Labour Party, LP, was a close opponent of Sanwo-Olu, who received 762,134 votes to defeat him with 312,329 votes.

With 62,449 votes, PDP flagbearer Adediran finished in a far-off third place.
