Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda, the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has warned his supporters not to engage in fights against Plateau State Governor Barr. Caleb Mutfwang on his behalf.

He claims that he and the governor have set aside any past differences and are now collaborating for the benefit of the state.

In the 2023 gubernatorial election, Plateau’s two prominent sons were political rivals, with Mutfwang, then affiliated with the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), emerging victorious.

Since that time, those who support them and their loyalists have seized every chance to launch attacks and insults at one another, seemingly representing the politicians.

However, during a speech in Jos on Monday, Nentawe urged his supporters to refrain from any further assaults on the governor, given that he has now switched to the APC and is serving the state’s interests.

The APC Chairman remarked that any past differences he had with Mutfwang were not personal but stemmed from their positions as political opponents in different camps. Naturally, they would have differing opinions and ideologies, but now that they are on the same side, such differences are unnecessary.

“Today, I want to thank God for two reasons. We’ve united with my brother, Governor Caleb Mutfwang, in the same party, and we will provide the best we can.

“By the grace of God and with your support, we will ensure that Plateau actually gets what it deserves at the national and state levels,” the former Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Reduction said.

“We never had any personal problems, and we never had any personal grudges. What we had was a political difference. We’ve closed those gaps, and we’re working together to ensure that we provide peace for our people, provide development for our people, and provide support for our people at any needed time.

“We now have a strong partnership. So, I’m calling upon anybody who is hearing my voice: If you have any political difference with Mutfwang because of me or for any reason, please, let bygones be bygones and let peace reign supreme in our state,” he added.
