According to reports, federal agents in the US raided the jail cell of Diddy, the embattled American rapper.

According to reports, a number of privileged documents and his own writing notes intended for his legal team during an impending trial were confiscated by the authorities.

Diddy’s attorney, Marc Agnifilo made this known while accusing prosecutors of exploiting secret legal writings acquired from the singer’s detention cell to keep him behind bars until his May trial.

In a new document filed in Manhattan federal court, Diddy’s defence team stated that the authorities confiscated records that were legally confidential and should not have fallen into the hands of the prosecutors.

His lawyer told Judge Arun Subramanian that “This search and seizure are in violation of Combs’ Fourth, Fifth, and Sixth Amendment rights.”

Additionally, Diddy’s legal team asked prosecutors to clarify who gave the go-ahead for the search of the singer’s cell, which resulted in the seizure of personal belongings and documents.

Judge Subramanian, however, scheduled a hearing on the case for Tuesday afternoon and gave prosecutors until Monday at 5 p.m. ET to reply to Diddy’s attorneys.

Diddy has been in pre-trial custody since September 2024, according to ZINGTIE, while he awaits trial.
