Emmanson: Actress Mary Njoku condemns viral video of Ibom Air passenger

Nollywood actress Mary Njoku has openly criticized the treatment of Comfort Emmanson, the woman who was removed from an Ibom Air flight, calling the situation a serious breach of her dignity.

In an Instagram post on Tuesday, Njoku stated that while she understands if the airline had valid reasons to offload the passenger, she strongly condemned the reported incident where Emmanson was stripped and the footage shared publicly.

“I understand removing her from the plane, that’s not the issue.

“What I cannot understand is stripping her while doing so and then putting it all over the internet,” she said.

“Airline or airport staff are trained professionals, and I refuse to believe that dehumanizing someone, stripping a woman naked, and broadcasting it online is part of that training, no matter what crime she may have committed,” Njoku said.

She stressed that the passenger deserves compensation for the “damage done to her life and dignity.”
